Requesting deletion
Signed-in users can choose Profile → Privacy & data → Delete account. You can also email privacy@getsquario.com from the email address connected to your Squario account and clearly ask us to delete the account. Do not include your password.
Verification and timing
We verify requests to prevent unauthorised deletion. A signed-in user can complete deletion after confirming their password. Email requests may require an additional identity check. We aim to complete verified email requests within 30 days.
What is removed
We delete or anonymise profile names, email, password access, sessions, device registrations, push tokens, travel context, offer preferences and other account-linked personalisation data. Pending local information on the user's device is cleared when the app receives confirmation. If the user owns an active group, ownership is transferred to another active member where possible; otherwise the group is archived.
Shared group history
Deleting every historical group record could silently alter other members' balances or remove information they still need. Shared expenses, settlements, receipt attachments, shopping history, allocation records, tasks and settlement-team history may therefore remain with the group. The deleted person's identity is replaced with a neutral label such as Former member and is no longer usable as an account. New activity cannot be assigned to that deleted account.
Limited retention
We may retain minimal security, fraud-prevention, dispute or legal records where necessary. Retained information is restricted, kept only for the applicable period and described in our privacy policy.
